Find the fit that feels made for you
Beautiful jewellery should feel effortless. This guide explains how to measure rings and bracelets at home, how to interpret the charts, and how to account for comfort, knuckles, width, charms, and movement. Measurements are a precise starting point rather than a guarantee for every design or body; when uncertain, contact our client care team before ordering.
A precise ring measurement
Measure the exact finger and hand where the ring will be worn. Hands are often largest at the end of the day, so measure when warm and relaxed. Use a narrow paper strip or a ring that already fits. Keep the strip comfortably snug, mark the overlap, then measure the length in millimetres. Repeat three times and use the most consistent result.
Before choosing a size
- Do not measure cold, swollen, or recently exercised hands.
- Your dominant hand may be slightly larger.
- Wide bands usually feel tighter than slim bands; size up when advised on the product page.
- The ring should pass the knuckle with gentle resistance and should not cause pain, numbness, or a deep indentation.
US ring size reference
Use inside circumference as your primary reference. Diameter is measured straight across the inside of the ring, not including the metal. Small differences can change the fit, so use a millimetre ruler and avoid rounding.
| US | Inside diameter | Inside circumference |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 15.7 mm | 49.3 mm |
| 6 | 16.5 mm | 51.9 mm |
| 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| 8 | 18.2 mm | 57.0 mm |
| 9 | 19.0 mm | 59.5 mm |
A comfortable bracelet measurement
Measure at the point where the bracelet will rest using a flexible tape or paper strip. Keep it close to the skin without tightening. Record the wrist measurement in inches, then add room according to your preferred fit.
Choose your comfort allowance
- Add 0.5 inch for a close, refined fit.
- Add 0.75 inch for a classic everyday fit.
- Add 1 inch for a relaxed fit or layered styling.
- For rigid bangles, measure around the widest part of the closed hand because the bangle must pass over it.
Chain bracelet reference
This chart is a general guide for chain-and-clasp bracelets. Compare the finished product length on its product page whenever available. A professional jeweller can confirm sizing for rigid, hinged, or unusually shaped designs.
