Caring for your jewelry
Fine jewelry rewards thoughtful care. Whether your piece is worn every day or reserved for meaningful occasions, small habits can help preserve its appearance, comfort, and character over time.
Apply perfume, lotions, hair products, and cosmetics before putting on your jewelry. Remove pieces before swimming, bathing, sleeping, exercising, or handling cleaning products.
Gently wipe the piece with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. This helps remove oils and everyday residue without unnecessary abrasion.
Keep pieces separated in a cool, dry place, ideally in their pouch or a lined compartment. Avoid direct sunlight, humidity, and contact with harder jewelry.
Every material has its own personality. Use these general recommendations as a starting point and refer to the product-specific information supplied with your piece.
We recommend removing jewelry before bathing, swimming, exercising, or entering salt water. Water itself is not the only concern; chlorine, salt, soaps, and prolonged moisture may affect finishes, settings, or delicate materials.
Start with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth and use light strokes. Do not use abrasive cloths, paper towels, toothpaste, household cleaners, ultrasonic devices, or polishing compounds unless they are specifically suitable for your jewelry.
Finished surfaces benefit from reduced friction and limited exposure to moisture and cosmetics. Wipe gently after wear and store separately. Changes over time can be natural; avoid aggressive polishing that may remove the finish.
Be mindful of impact, temperature changes, and contact with harder objects. If a stone moves, a setting catches, or a clasp feels different, stop wearing the piece and request professional guidance.
Professional care is appropriate when a piece needs more than gentle surface cleaning, or when you notice looseness, unusual movement, scratches, discoloration, or a change in the clasp or chain. Our team can help determine the most suitable next step.
